Paul commissioned me to cover his concert at The Cavern in Liverpool on December 14th 1999, where he performed to a capacity crowd of 300. It was a special evening, with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour playing lead guitar, Ian Price from Deep Purple on drums, and Peter Green of The Pirates on rhythm guitar.

Bringing my penchant for technology into play, I created a password-protected website to host my images for download. Setting up a laptop connected to a modem under the stairs, I uploaded images for publication in colour by accredited press in the next day’s papers, which went to print within an hour of Paul coming off stage.

My images were spread across every national newspaper’s front page on the following morning. Such was my exclusivity that more than one title credited my pictures to their own photographer.
