Denis: "Virtually all of my photographs of David were informal and unstaged, and this is a good example. He was relaxing before the show - eyes closed - basking in the last embers of an Australian sunset. I would often wander into David's dressing room area as part of my pre-show travels, which also involved a recce of the stage and venue to establish the best angles for shooting during the show."
